| Artist's Comment: This painting was completed after I finished art school and reflects a time of spiritual hunger in my life. I began going back to church and praying to God which gave me a great sense of peace. It's somewhat of a self-portrait where I'm lying on the bed reading on a book. A white cat is resting next to me, knowingly gazing at the viewer. The white bird in the window represents God's presence in my life. Up until then, I was painting my "Webster" cat in black, the cat's color now represents forgiveness and purity. I like the composition and how the canvas is filled. This painting is in my collection. |
