I found a 1900 census document Harlem Township MT, Chouteau, with Frank and James Hawley together. Frank was listed as only 5 years old and James as 14. The months and year of birth match, and the geographic area match, I am almost certain that this is the same Hawley family. They were listed as boarders. No mother or father listed with them. They said father was born in California. They are both listed as white. Mother born in Montana. They were both born in Montana. James has attended school and can read and write. They are white and sex male. They are living with James and Mary Dorrity. Mary Dorrity was half sister to Nellie Buckshot and their aunt. She must have raised them after their mother died. He sometimes took on his adoptive father's name Dorrity.
