Margaret Clarke Clark

  General Notes:

In a 1900 census she was 39 years old and she had been married for 19 years! She bore 10 children, but only 9 living. Her father was born in Ireland, and her mother born in Pennsylvania.

Also found her living in a 1930 census with her daughter Margaret Esther. she says she is widowed. she says she was 19 years old at her first marriage. She said her father was born in Northern Ireland, so he was the first immigrant.

Per Bernardine Fahlfeder, Msgr. Clark looked into Grandma Clark's family background in Muncy/Northumberland area and found out they married into a German family named Reifsneider. Grandma Clark also belonged to a Presbyterian church in Williamsport and that's the national church of Scotland. She later became Catholic for her family's sake. she said she is Scotch German, but the census says she was born in Ireland.

In a 1870 census, I found Margaret's family. It listed her father as Francis Clark and her mother as Esther Clark. She has a brother named William. They were living in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA in 1870. Father listed as 52 years old working as a laborer and born in Ireland. Her mother was listed as 48 years old and showing her born in PA. William is 17 working as a laborer. Margarett is a young 11 - her birth year a few years off from the birth date I have on record. I am certain this our family as the names are passed down and the dates and places match.

Margaret married Thomas G. Clark, son of Living and Living, 1879 or 1881 in Lycoming co, PA. (Thomas G. Clark was born in Dec 1860 in Belfast, N. Ireland or Scotland and died on 3 Apr 1928.). The cause of his death was pnuemonia.
