Thomas B. Clark, 1222 West Fourth Street, brother of Fire Chief Michael Clark, is improving after remaining in serious condition for several days following the removal of a kidney.
Paul said he had kidney cancer; he needed to be drained of fluid once a week because he was so bloated; he suffered according to Paul.

Thomas Clark, 1222 West Fourth Street, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, 1945 at the Williamsport Hospital. Surviving are his wife Ruth; a daughter Bernardine, two sons Paul and Joseph, all at home, two brothers Michael E. Clark and Joseph Clark, city; six sisters, Sister M. Ignatia, I.H.M., Watertown, NY; Mrs. Robert Brighan, Rochester, NY; Mrs. Thomas Hunt, Washington, DC; Mrs. Clifford Goldy; Mrs. Melvin Dewan, and Miss Esther Clark, city.

paul told me that his father looked him in the eye and told him, "When you're the eldest son, it's your responsibility to take care of the family." Paul's father said that his first job was 12 years old picking slate out of coal. He actually was the second oldest son, William, the first, died from a railroad accident.

Requiem high mass for Thomas Clark will be celebrated at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning in the Church of the Annunciation with Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 331 Elmire Street, Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock. Members of Williamsport Council 366, Knights of Columbus, will meet in a body at 8 o'clock for the recitation of the rosary.

According to his WWII draft registration his complexion is ruddy, he is 5'2", and only 130 pounds. He is 59 years old.

(Mrs. Ruth Mary Markley Butler was born on 23 May 1899 in Jersey Shore, PA, died on 9 May 1983 in Phoenix, AZ and was buried on 13 May 1983 in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.). The cause of her death was Diverticulitis.
