JAMES PEDIGO, EARLY SETTLER, IS DEAD AT 90
The funeral of James W. Pedigo, 90, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 27, in United Presbyterian Church, Wolf Point. Burial will be in King Memorial Cemetery. Rev. John Hubbard will officiate. Clayton Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pedigo was born Jan. 3, 1874 in Nodaway County, Mo. He died Tuesday morning, June 23, in Trinity Hospital, Wolf Point. He came to Montana from Fort Collins, Colo., in 1908 and was an old-time mule skinner and cowboy.
He lived in Poplar for a few years before taking a homestead in the Vida Community where he helped a good many homesteaders locate their land.
In February, 1918, he married Mrs. Louise Chase, Wolf Point. They lived at Macon where he ranched and farmed for 38 years.
Survivors iinclude a son, Ray Pedigo, Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Zelma Ann Johnson, Marysville, Calif.; five brothers, Alex, Portland, Ore.; John B., San Francisco, Calif.; A. T. Pedigo, Longmont, Colo.; Ben, Longmont; Harrison, and Francis Chase, California; Mrs. Roach, Glasgow; and Mrs. Harry Johnston, Wolf Point.
