Bill or Billy C. Williams

  General Notes:

According to Chucko and a photograph he gave me, Murphy had a younger brother named Bill who lived in Bishop area and had about eight kids. No one in our family ever heard of him, and he is supposed to have a son named Ed.

According to Harry his grandson, he was born in Bodie. His birthplace confirmed in his daughter's death certificate. Harry Williams say he was a trick rider in Yosemite and born in Yosemite. He died fairly young of a heart attack. the only evidence of our relation is a photograph of Murphy Williams with his arm around Bill Williams. Chuck said that this was his brother.

Found in living with Emma and their children in Round Valley, Inyo County, CA in 1920.

Found a military registration document; he gives his birthdate and says he was actually born in Aurora, Nevada - close to Bodie. He's working as a farm hand and asks for an exemption from military service because he is supporting his family. Says his nearest relative is James Birchim. by age 21, he already has three kids.

In a 1937 census he says he's 1/2 Indian which makes sense if he has the same father as Murphy Williams whose father is Irish.

1930 census says he married when he was only 16 years old! He's a manager of a farm, and he says his parents are born in California.

Bill married Emma Mallory Williams, daughter of Living and Living, in 1912. (Emma Mallory Williams was born on 1 Jul 1894 in California and died on 31 Oct 1980.)
