Funeral Services for William C. Knorr, 83 of Wolf Point, who died Tuesday in a Wolf Point hospital, will be 10:00 am Saturday with the Rev. Harry Weston and the Rev. John Hubbard officiating. Memorial services will be at 9:00 pm Friday at Clayton Memorial Chapel. Mr. Knorr, known as a tribal leader on the Fort Peck Indian reservation, was born Jan. 21, 1885 in Poplar. He was one of the first students of the government school when it opened in 1893. Mr. Knorr worked as a line rider on the reservation until he was 18, when he became one of the reservations youngest members on the police force. He helped organize the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede in the mid-20's and served as a member of the reservation's executive board for 16 years. for two and half years, he was chairman of the board. He worked on several cattle ranches on the reservation and helped organize the Flynn creek and Oil discovery celebrations each year on the reservation. Survivors include his widow Mary, three daughters, Mrs. Lyle Simonson, Laredo, TX, Mrs. Irene Scott, Poplar, Mrs. William Waddell, Seattle WA, seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
