bullet  General Notes:

I believe she is buried with David Mitchell, her husband. I found this record in the Calvary cemetery database. They must have been a Catholic family as this was a catholic cemetery. She was only 31 years old, I believe.

a St. Louis friend wrote, "i knew him (Mitchell) and his lovely beautiful wife well. She died and he had her buried in his yard, so he could look from his window on to her grave. He was so lonely afterward. I often went to his house and sat with him."

She must have been beautiful; there is a portrait of her somewhere in the family.

Descendant of Pres George Washington's great great grandfather Rev Lawrence Washington III

bullet  Medical Notes:

I found her estate files, she was only 30 years old.

I read somewhere that DD buried her in his backyard and after she died would sit very sadly looking over the yard at her. I found the death record, but no cause of death listed. It could have been anything. She did leave behind very young children.
